Welcome! Here’s a bit about me.

That’s me!

My name is Steven Keehner and I’m a journalist and writer based out of Long Island, NY.

With experience reporting on municipal governments, educational systems and a variety of other topics, I bring a unique perspective and expertise to my work.

Most recently, I served as a news reporter and deputy editor at Blank Slate Media, where I placed stories, took photos and created headlines for online and print publications. I also founded and serve as editor-in-chief of That Punk Zine, a website that shares original stories from the D.I.Y. punk scene.

Additionally, I have experience managing staff and increasing readership through online content, as evidenced by my time as managing editor of The Statesman and my work with The Impact News. I am skilled in a variety of areas, including data visualization, web design, programming, Adobe Creative Suite, podcasting and photography.

I’m always seeking new opportunities to tell stories and contribute to meaningful work. If you’re interested in working together, please reach out. References are available upon request.

Thank you for visiting my website and I look forward to connecting with you soon!
